EDIT: Okay guys, should I use the wig or wear my hair like this? [link]

Rather than go by Miss Francie Gumm's (Judy Garland for those of you whom didn't know she had a career far before of Wizard of Oz) portrayal as Dorothy, I decided to go by the books. I'm going to include something from the 1939 film just so people will know who I am (either wearing Ruby Slippers instead of Silver Shoes or wearing a blue checkered apron) but I am basing this primarily off the books and Miss Ferry Balk's portayal of Dorothy in Return to Oz. (Yes, it does exist. And it's a Disney production) I also took a page from the 1910 silent film.

I really love the Oz books, and I can see your nod towards Niell's illustrations. I also notice the similarities with Ms.Balk's rendition of Dorothy.
It's very nice!! ; u ;
I really like the red ribbon, especially. Very much like the illustration by Neill.
Also, I found a picture of Bebe Daniels from the silent film:[link]
It's a bit grainy, but you can still see her well enough to get the basic concept of her costume.

Honestly, I have never seen Return to Oz except a few snippets here and there, but I really like how you're doing a different approach to Dorothy. Great job so far, and I can't wait to see the final result!
