AxC Secret Santa

In Hogwarts Castle, Luna Lovegood was striding the halls, searching for her misplaced shoes. Luna's belongings were constantly being hidden by her fellow Ravenclaws, though she was always content to shift the blame to the non-existent nargles. She never saw any harm in the blatant bullying she was subjected to, and figured since it was the holidays, there was more mistletoe and therefore, more nargles.

"Miss Lovegood, what on earth are you doing?" asked Professor Snape to the girl, who was peeking into a mouse hole.

"Oh hello, Professor. I was just looking for my shoes. I suspect nargles."

"Fascinating..." Snape said in the most disinterested tone that he could possible muster.

"I suppose it is. They take my things all the time, but I never find them," Luna said, completely dismissing Snape's characteristic demeanour.

Oddly enough, Luna was one of the few people in existence that did little to annoy or irritate Snape. He always found her to be interesting. Most people are turned away by his spiteful demeanour, but in spite of it, Luna is kind to him. She constantly tried to cheer him up and honestly, he found it amusing that anyone cared about him at all, especially being that it's a girl who probably doesn't know what's happening right in front of her. It's not like nothing she says ever bothers him, but, though he will never admit to it, he has far more patience for her than even a few Slytherins.

"Do they take your things as well, Professor?"

"No, I have not had the misfortune," said Snape in a deadpan voice.

"They must be afraid of your vampire likeness," she said with a warm smile.

"Riiiiiight," Snape said, slightly irritated.

"Are you a vampire?"

"No," Snape said before walking away quickly.

Luna looked slightly confused before returning to looking for her shoes. After a poke here and a peek there, Luna found a shoelace poking out of the ground nearby a tree and pulled at it. Eventually, she uncovered two very dirty does that had been tied together. They were her shoes.

Later that evening, Luna heard two fellow Ravenclaws giggling about some prank they pulled on a girl named "Crazy Bitch" and how they buried her shoes. Perhaps if Luna found Ms. Bitch, she could relate her story to her and help her find her shoes.
